Love

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. - Galatians 5:22-23

Now, it is clearly stated in the bible what the 9 fruits of the Spirit are, and it is evident that when the spirit dwells in us, these should be the qualities we would aim to attain as we birth the fruit of being disciples of Christ Jesus.

First of all, love, above all things, is mentioned first. Love always comes first. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not be perished but have everlasting life. So you have to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Because, greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for a friend. and it is true that the Lord's love endures forever - the Lord's unfailing love.

It all started with this emotion, love. Take a look at books and courses aimed at redirecting your spiritual growth, lessons on the basis of christianity. you will more or less find that what all these have in common (other than the foundation of our faith - the death and ressurection of our Lord Jesus), is that they will somehow start with the topic of the "Love of the Father". The focus will be on how God loves us, for who we are, no matter what we do, and that He will always patiently wait for our return to obedience towards Him.

God loves us. and knowing so, we love Him back. and because we love God, we want others to love Him too. and the best we can do, is to love the rest...

Out of a mark of 10, how would you rate your ability to love.... even your enemies? have a think...

Love.

"This is my command: Love each other" - John 15:16.
