Tell yourself: "I will NOT be shaken"

Whooosh. Ever had a hard day? Where everything seems to go wrong, and nothing will ever be right, even to the last moment, the very last bit of your day? You're definitely not alone, and you'll probably remember what such a day feels like. I've just had one, right from the start of my day, to almost the end of it. However, the feelings of my heart, is not one of despair, but of hope.

I take a step back and wonder, would I actually have gotten through this very trying day, if I didnt have the joy of the Lord in my heart? And I think, the answer would very much be a big N-O.

Although its hard, in the midst of the turmoils of the day that were slowly unfolding, waiting to pounce upon me and swallow me up, there have always been little twinkly lights of blessings. It would have been easy to miss them if I had given up hope of ever having anything go my way today, yet I perservered. I carried on, trusting in the Lord that no matter how bad the day may be, it is still a gift from Him, and I just need to know that God knows what He is doing. I'm not willing to trade my joy for anything in the world. So I started to count my little twinkly blessings, and slowly but significantly, they got bigger and radiated stronger than the initial feeble little beam. At the end of the day, I didnt even realise that I had actually started off feeling like the whole world is against me! It really worked wonders... when you refuse to be shaken by the trails that frustrate you, and the temptations of giving into anger and bitterness, and continue gripping on to the One who knows it all.

2 Corinthians 4:7-9 says - "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed."

It is important to remember our very first love is God, and He will always come first in our life. So tell yourself that "I will NOT be shaken" because if God is for us, who can be against us?

"I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken" - Psalm 16:8
