when fear creeps in... Ever been afraid? Not talking about the lizards or spiders or bugs here. You know what I'm talking about. Fear or not being able to make it. Not being able to carry it through. Not being able at all. When fear slyly but surely creeps into your life. You are afraid. Come on, be honest with yourself! When was the last time you felt like this? So then, what did you do? Did you throw in the towel, and give it all up? Did you squat in one corner or under ur blanket and cry your heart out? Did you tremble at the thought... of not being able to make it through? Or maybe, you shouted at everyone around you and blamed everything else for what you're facing? Or did you go into a state of denial, denying even ur ownself from God? Let me ask you this. Did you, for once, think about what God can do for you in the midst of your fears? Did you, instead of doing all of the above, kneel/sit/stand and pray earnestly with all your heart, pouring out your soul and your fears to God? Did you even sing out praise and worship to God and thank Him that your fears have been lifted even when they are still staring at you in your face? Sounds a bit foreign all of a sudden? Take a read: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your and your staff, they comfort me." -Psalm 23:4 Sounds familiar again? Why is it that something that is so dear to your heart doesnt seem to surface when you are facing your fears? This is what happens when you allow fear to grip your heart. You shut out the love of God. You momentarily forget who the strength of your heart if. You have been robbed by your fears, of the very one who loves you. God is with you always, He has promised to be with you always and to love you. Don't let fear overtake you, your life, your relationship with God. Trust in Him always, and know that your fears cannot stand when you put them into the hands of God. I don't know what you are fearing today. Might be an exam, might be something you feel that you are incompetent at, might even be yourself. I don't know. But I do know that God is in control. So, don't let your fear creep in... Kick it out! "There is no fear in love." - 1 John 4:18a |
