it is sufficient for me

I've been feeling like a juggling clown. Trying to maintain and juggle all the balls i'm throwing up in the air, yet trying to hop around the fiery hot spots on the circus ground. No rest, no applause (probably coz I'm a crap clown), no satisfaction. And there I am, tirelessly (or as much as I can hold out) jumping around, throwing the balls, and taking the blows of rotten eggs from the unhappy crowd. And just when I think I'm on top of it all, managing all right, suddenly my red nose falls off my face (remember I'm a clown?) and urm.. my wig falls off and gets caught in the fire.... You know what I mean? The situation where 'when the going gets tough, I get tougher, but the tougher i get, the rougher it gets'... the no-win, sure-lose situations...

So, feeling a bit frustrated, turning to my current morning reads in Jeremiah wasnt exactly, urm, motivational at this point in time. As I completed my chapter and was about to close my bible (back to front as I do quite often), suddenly some red words (its the red letter bible edition) in a sea of black words suddenly came calling out to me. I re-opened my already half closed bible, and read those words:

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Wow. That struck me, and I took the words to my heart and tried to keep them warm within me for a little longer than I usually do with verses that I feel encouraged me for the day. So I thought, alright, that's a cool verse. now lets get on with some studying, and i'm off to church in a bit. So I carried on with the rest of my morning, and slowly slowly, the words faded into the deep creases of my memory.

I trotted off to church, without much recollection of the words of revelation I had just about an hour ago, but God wouldnt let me forget His words. they werent there just for me to read and forget. His words are indeed alive and at work. Throughout worship and even the new song that was sung, the theme revolved around the Grace of God and that it is enough. It is a promise and it is enough. I was forced to unveil the eys of my heart to this very verse that spoke to me in the morning, and re-find it in my bible. The words of God. And very much like, yet the opposite of the clown whose situation could only get worse, the reminders of God's words got better. The sermon channelled down from the adultress woman whom the crowd wanted to stone, but Jesus forgave when her accusers went away, right till how God's grace still reigns in our lives, and its this very thing that keeps us alive and forgiven for everything.

His Grace is indeed sufficient. We need to trust that it is. But for me, it is enough. I think, no I'm sure I can abandon my clown act, and rest in the peace of God that transcends all understanding, because His grace is sufficient for me.
