in the midst of loneliness... I was just feeling a little down and lonely today because of several things that have happened in succession. Upon the advice of a friend, I turned on some music and closed my eyes. My winamp started rolling out the song "So you would come" by Hillsongs. As I heard Darlene's voice reel out the beautiful melody and words of this song, I come to understand how God's prescence can manifest itself so strongly, even in the deepest, lowest emotional emptiness of your life... If you don't know Jesus tonight, This song has been written with you in mind. The chorus says, Come to the Father. You may feel like you have nothing to give You might have a broken heart, a broken life. But Jesus is standing here, saying Come, come, come, come, Come to the Father Before the world began, you were on His mind And every tear you cry, Is precious in His eyes Because of His great love, He gave His only son And everything was done, so you would come Nothing you can do, could make Him love you more And nothing that you've done, could make Him close the door Because of His great love, He gave His only son And everything was done, so you would come Come to the Father Though your gift is small Broken hearts broken lives He will take them all The power of the word, The power of His blood and everything was done, so you would come If you are feeling particularly low today, and feel like you really have nothing to offer to the Lord, and that you really just feel like crying it all out, just remember that God loves you so much, He will take every bit of you that is hurting, and nurse them back if only you will let Him. In the midst of loneliness... there is always our faithful God. "See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and bring you to the place I have prepared." - Exodus 23:20 |
