15:13
the last leg It's the last leg of this race. I stare ahead in envy at those who have crossed that finish line that I'm running towards, yet my legs are not moving. "MOVE!" I scream at myself, "MOVE!!". "move, please move" I cry to myself silently, willing my engines to chug, but nothing happens. I don't want to be what was described in Galatians 5:7-8, reading: "You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you." I don't want to be that. I don't want it said of me that I was running a good race, but have dropped out now... It's the last leg of the race. Come on and move. I want to run in perseverance on the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1). I want to run in such a way that I gain the prize (1 Corinthians 9:24). I need God's Grace. I need to learn to return my focus on our Lord Jesus. If you're finding yourself in the same place where I am, let's not give up. Instead, let's work together to our final goal, by accomplishing each tiny races that have been set for us. Jesus is the one we want to be like, we will make it there. It's the last leg of this race... let us run like it's the beginning. "therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning in shame, and sat down at the right hand of God's throne. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." - Hebrews 12:1-3 |
